There were so many views we witnessed while driving, that we couldn’t stop for each one and capture. Note: Don’t judge the beauty of the I90 drive and Yakima, just from the pictures shared below.
We only had two places in mind, 1) The Yakima Canyon Scenic Byway and 2) The Cowiche Canyon Trail but we found another interesting jewel. We had planned to start around breakfast in the morning and be back by dusk (around 8 PM). The weather was partly cloudy and temperature maximum 60 Degree F. We found the weather to be great when we were there yesterday. Yakima isn’t a great summer (July-ish) destination as it gets very hot, as per the various posts I read while browsing. From Bellevue, it’s a 2.5 hrs drive and seemed like a good day-trip option, so we decided to go there on Saturday morning. But if you really start hating the continuous rain, little hope of sunshine will make you drive miles. We hadn’t heard the name before and it won’t show up in popular destinations around Seattle either. 😦 We looked at nearby areas for respite and found Yakima might have some sunshine this weekend. Out of the first 2 weeks of April, it has rained for 11 days covering both the weekends.
Bellevue/Seattle’s weather can be really annoying in early spring.
